Back

It's been a long time since I last blogged but I'm finally back. Wanna know why?? EXAMS !! I dislike them. Exams to me is staying up late and studying for once. I hope to do better though than last term. Anyway, they're over already which means the holidays are here. Yeah, you may say. For those who know me well enough, its my first holidays here in this bloody country. I used to leave the day the hols. started. These few days have been relatively boring but I survived with satellite tv.

I procrastinate too much, I notice till the extent of studying only a week before the exams. Thank god I still do well enough. Even during the exams, the bloody tv bugs me all the time. I cannot stand not watching it even during the exam period. Many have complained of my 'over-excessive' TV madness. Conclusion is - Brandon, you watch too much TV but what can I do.

I'm not that worried about the exams now except for the science subjects n moral that is. Computer was thankfully easier this time around. I have to of course complain about moral. Its a fuckin silly exam in malaysia. The govt. (MOE) actually expects us to memorise 32 nilais (values) which have meanings which are at least 10 words long. Being the good soul I always am, I didn't care less memorising them till the 10 minutes b4 the paper. Well, I can conclude that even malaysia's most notorious killer can get an A for moral if he has the necessary skills to memorize the nilai's which he may very well be able to after living in a cell for umphteenth years.

Among the wonderful made-up nilai's are as so :

Cinta Akan Negara - perasaan cinta dan bangga yang mendalam dan berkekalan kpd negara

I've forgotten the others but i'll probably fail my moral paper. Will probably list some more when I get back my paper.

MTV Asia Awards

The MTV Asia Awards rocked !!! Those of you who managed to catch it yesterday, you will surely agree with me. Those who didn't, you really missed out. It was held again for 3 years simultaneously in Bangkok but this time at the gigantic Siam Paragon (a shopper's haven). When will it ever come to M'sia??

Hosted by Wang Lee Hom and Kelly Rowland, it included numerous performances by Korn, Hoobastank, Jolin Tsai, Se7en, Rivermaya (!!), Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, Tata Young, Kangta, Vaness Wu, Daniel Powter etc. If you ask me, the past awards were so much better with the presence of more popular artists.

The winners are as follows :

Favourite Artist Malaysia - Mawi [=( ]
Favourite Artist Singapore - Taufik Batisah
Favourite Artist Hong Kong - Twins
Favourite Artist Philippines - Rivermaya
Favourite Artist Taiwan - Wang Lee Hom
Favourite Artist China - Vicki Zhao

Trips Galore ..

In the past week or two, I had been on two trips - one for the librarians and the next being the PBSM Camp. The librarian's trip was to the Tenmoku Pottery factory near Batu Caves and the Beryl's Chocolate Factory. The trip was one of the boring-est ones. The other two was so much better. The good thing was i won some small cup thing from some quiz in the pottery factory. When it came to the gift shop part there was a section for all rejected pottery. Nearly all of us crowded there making us look like a bunch of hardcore poor refugee jakuns.. haha.

Most of us would have looked forward to an exciting tour of the
chocolate factory but this was not the case since we only had a 10 minutes look inside the factory (it was generally small) and wasted an hour sampling n buyin chocolates. Their chocolates weren't that bad but anyone would have to agree that hershey's and ferrero rocher would have tasted so much better. One interesting fact I found out was that they exported chocolates to other countries for those countries to sell to tourists. They made kangaroo shaped ones for aussie, so imagine yourself bringing back home chocolates from australia assuming its from there.

Next was the rather dreadful PB
SM Camp in Dusun Eco Resort, Bentong. It was a first time camping experience for me but it wasn't that bad. I have to complain of course that sleeping in one is just freaking hot. Its not that bad at nite but it is bad in the day. That nite, it started raining and bcoz of some of the girl's tents which were flooded, we all moved to the hall thing. Another new thing for many but not for me was the communal bathing (first time was in japan). I was lucky however to be spared from watching ho sek yun bathe naked as some did. God .. it kills.

We all slept in dorms the second night so there was not that much of complain. The activities were generally fun like the jungle
trekking although dangerous n water sports although challenging. I would also mention that i bravely crossed the dangling bridge thing, It was so cool and fun. Love it.. So, overall i would give the PBSM Camp a rating of 7 out of 10. Hope next year's one will be better. I will leave you all with some pics.

I shall leave you all lastly with a strange sign in the wrong places. This was found in every cubicle in the boy's toilet. I wonder whether these signs were also
put up in the girl's toilet's. In case you people can't see it, it says - " Jangan buang tuala wanita dalam tandas". Some vandals eventually conteng-ed kondom on it. Sad..
