How Patriotic Are You ?

Its Independence Day today but sadly I do not see any difference. It is just another public holiday to me and many others. I do not wake up at 7.30 in the morning to see the celebration what more go watch it live in person. I don't see the significance of sacrificing my time and energy to get cramped up among sweaty malaysians to see colourful floats being paraded.

While some of you may assume that the
Merdeka craze, you are wrong because it all only ends on the 16th of September. It is even worse to think of the national day as the country's birthday cause that happens to also fall on 16/9. There is a difference between National Day and Malaysia Day. At least I know my facts on Malaysia since I'm as follows ..

Congratulations Brandon, you are 50% not Malaysian.

That means you're as Malaysian as...

Michelle Yeoh!

How Un-Malaysian Are You?

I would rather stay awake on the eve of Merdeka to watch fireworks grace the KL skies conveniently from my house's window or balcony. Its more fun .. haha. These are some before and after pictures from the fireworks last night which I spotted from Bukit Bintang and some place near Great Eastern Mall. Surprisingly, there was nothing from Suria KLCC or KL Tower. The colourful Malaysian flag-themed lights on KL Tower are missing this year. I presume there will be fireworks from KLCC tonight since all the Akademi Fantasia people are gonna perform. There's just so much of smoke after it all ..

I had even indulged myself in a Japanese film, All About Dogs which was shown on Astro AEC. Yes, a movie from our violent, ruthless
penjajah's which have long left. A cute but meaningless film with no prper start nor end .. I have to also mention that the five new Astro channels starts broadcasting today. For anime fans there's Animax while I can watch lots of Filipino flicks on Astro Kirana ..

All the government has to advice us on the weeks leading to Merdeka is to
fly our national flag. As if, all there is to patriotism is by flying you flag .. trash. Then, you have ministers telling the people the proper ways of flying it. Putting it on the toilet door would be disrespectful but wearing it isn't .. blek. Its just your intentions that matter .. The minister said that people in america use their flag as their tablecloths so I'm gonna do that. I'll probably laugh when I pour curry or something saucy all over. Some other ways to show your patriotism with the national flag ..
  • Keranamu Malaysia Underwear .. looks lame
  • Malaysia Truly Asia! Handkerchief
  • Tablecloth .. with a bigger flag of course
  • Wrap it up and use it as a condom to show-off ..
  • Bra/Coli Buatan Malaysia .. manually fold it
  • Think of one yourself ..
Look at how patriotic us wms students were yesterday. We were throwing our flags high up in the air and just throwing them on the floor. Disrespectful indeed .. the special guest must have been disgusted. Prof. Khoo to Mr. Peter : "What's wrong with your students" just as how Mr. Peter predicted. It was luckily not some government person or we would all be in serious trouble. We'll probably gonna be blasted tomorrow. Some Form 1's were actually given DC for throwing thier flags or laughing during the event.

I barely waved the silly puny flags we were made to buy. Felt like a fool waving it .. haha. I amazingly have a few other flags like that of other countries but surprisingly not malaysia. So, I now have a new flag in my mini flag collection. Notice that all the flags are the flags of
ASEAN member countries ..

I might have to admit one day that I will nonetheless have this sense of attachment with Malaysia,
tanah tumpahnya darahku, the country I was born in. Well, I am 22 out of 45 Malaysian as compared to some who got lower. I happen to also be as Malaysian as Michelle Yeoh meaning I'm a half-Malaysian. If only the government can allow me to have dual citizenship .. then I can truly literally declare that I'm 50% or half-Malaysian.

A Matrimony & A Break-up

Malaysia's "Wedding Of The Year" between Datuk Khalid Muhammad Jiwa and Siti Nurhaliza held last week will be definitely remembered by me forever and ever. It was shown on TV3 much to the delight of Siti fans starting with the bersanding ceremony, meet the fans session ending with the grander ballroom wedding all conveniently held in the grounds of KLCC. For the record, I've tagged this wedding as the "Lamest Wedding of the 21st Century".

Their wonderful broadcasted wedding however had fierce competition from the live appearance and reunion of Malaysia's most popular
Akademi Fantasia winner, Asmawi Ani aka. Mawi and his ex-fiancee, Ina. Eww .. I look like I'm glorifying Mawi but I fucking despise him. He should be doomed to the ends of the Earth. Come on, what kind of male name's Asmawi Ani. They were both broadcasted at almost the same time. One started at 8.30 while the other at 9.00. The different Tv stations denied competition stating that the Mawi-Ina thing was planned long ago.

I had planned to watch Siti's wedding with Datuk Sakit Jiwa while rolling on the floor laughing but I instead fell asleep only waking up at 11.00. I managed to catch an hour of only the ballroom wedding part. There were lots of VVIP's who attented including royalty, seats of government and celebrities. Only about
4 Sultans attended while there were a number of ministers. There was without doubt lots of celebrity friends. One peculiar thing that I can't stop mentioning is the fact that Tun Dr. Mahathir and the DPM, Datuk Seri Najib attended while our PM, Datuk Abdullah Badawi was not there. It may probably be because Mahathir was there or he was busy. What are the chances that he was just not invited .. how malu !!

As I stated, the wedding was plain lameness throughout or a really '
plastic' event. The MC's 'entertained' the guests with Malay pantuns and syairs in between their ultra-long speeches. I just found it boring though I understood them as being meaningful and trying to entertain. The bride and groom then came in while there were traditional Malay dancers and little ballet girls dancing in the front. The ugly deceitful smirk on Datuk Sakit Jiwa's face just did not dissapear.

The lamest part of it was during the cake-cutting ceremony. By the way, they had a seven-layer modern kind of cake. Guess foreign influence has definitely seeped into even this grand Malay wedding. This was something similar to what the MC said ..

"Datuk Khalid sekarang dipersilakan menyuap kek kepada Datin Siti (so she's already Datin Siti) .. puts cake in her mouth with that smirk. Sekarang, giliran Datin Siti menyuap kek kepada Datuk Khalid .. the same to Datuk Sakit Jiwa. "

It may be sweet and all but I just found it 100% cheesy, lame and tacky since the MC's actually had to announce it. After that, Siti's parents also cut some pulut kuning cake coz it was apparently their wedding annivessary that day as well. Siti then enthralled the audience with a new song "Cahaya Cinta". The thing ended after it. I must comment that Siti's gown was interesting. Almost both her sleeves were fully encrusted with diamonds and jewels. They were really sparkling. Not to forget that she also wore one gown which had thousands of pearls sewn on together.

The verdict is it was 100% lame. If this
golden couple ends up in a divorce, they would seriously be ashamed while I would be laughing my head off. Jiam did point out to me on the same day that Datuk Sakit Jiwa may just be after Siti's $$. He apparently married his now ex-wife, Tengku Zawiyah for her money then divorced her. I also just noticed on Monday that she has royalty blood in her. Let's hope Siti doesn't suffer the same fate.

During the wedding, Datuk Sakit Jiwa had that silly ham-sap lou smirk on his face so he can now be
Datuk Gatal. Meanwhile, during the Mawi-Ina reunion, Ina seemed to be all sober and sad even weeping at times while Mawi just seemed calm. So much for "Saya tak akan meninggalkan bakal isteri saya" after he won Akademi Fantasia 3.

When the final ratings for both the shows came in, it was as follows ..

4.7 million viewers

6.3 million viewers

Quite a huge gap betwen the two though. I would have thought that many would have preferred watching Mawi. Take for example, our Biology teacher, Cik Siti Maheran who as I had pointed out before is one of Siti's greatest fans. When I asked her however, she said she was gonna watch Mawi because she dislikes Siti. Next thing we know, her initial on our books changed from "Ct" to "SM" meaning she only started disliking Siti recently. Wonder how many more out there are like her. She should seriously consider changing her initials befire she is deemed to enjoy bondage or something .. S-M woman.

Besides, there were many of such desperate fans of both watching both programs at the same time. Some would rather just flip channels. Who buys two television sets and places them side by side .. doesn't make sense. Then again, they may be jakuns .. lol.

Before I forget, I had received this message from Hotlink on my phone on Tuesday ..

Win limited edition Sony Erricson Siti Nurhaliza phones! 3 up for grabs. Send the best wedding dedications to 017 7707 177. 65sen/message. Contest ends at 9/9/06.

Siti fans better act fast to win yucky Siti phones. can't imagine how hideous it'll look like. I shall now go to wait for Merdeka fireworks to appear outside my window .. adios

Birthday's Over ..

My 15th birthday was officially over almost 15 hours ago. I had one of the best birthday celebrations yesterday though I've had better. If you all don't know, me and my aunt jacklyn were actually celebrated upon yesterday at my uncle's house.

We had yummy steamboat with lots of the usual stuff. For dessert, there was cold cincau .. haha. As usual, all the cousins young and old retreated upstairs to mingle around. Its not fun being around the adults always. The camera played an all important part with lots of crazy pics and videos. The computer is another must coz we somehow always hog around the comp. to laugh at stuff .. lame.

I didn't get lots of presents this year but got lots of cash .. hope no one robs me. Altogether I've collected almost RM 1260. I can buy the stuff I want .. blek. I had a funny conversation with one of my young cousins. She overheard my sis saying pornstar and started asking. We didn't tell her the real meaning. She knew we were tricking her so she started crapping with the word. The funnist thing she said was "Your pimples make me feel like a pornstar". Freaking funny and absolutely wrong.

Next up was the cake cutting ceremony. Dunno why I bother to make it so official so its just gonna be - cut birthday cake. So there was the birthday song, candle blowing, cake eating yadda yadda. Mine was first then my reluctant aunt was next. My cake was some mocha cake while my aunt's was a cheesecake. Both from secret recipe. Love their cakes especially choco banana. I look bloody gay in the pictures ..

Later, we had a brilliant idea to make a home video thing since we had so many of the little ones around. I had actually wanted to make a video inspired by Justin Timberlake's new song - "Sexy Back" .. haha .. sick. Anyway, we changed it to a James Bond themed one. Its generally supposed to be about the fight between James Bond and some bad guy .. haha .. its really funny

So, let's meet the cast of the production ..

  1. Jonathan Kwok - stage guy
  2. Brandon Yew (me) - music person
  3. Amanda Chaang - camera-woman / director
  4. Brenda Yew - latin dancer
  5. Nicole Chaang - arabian dancer
  6. Isabel Chaang - arabian dancer
  7. Adam Chaang - bad guy
  8. Sean Chaang - James Bond
  9. Timothy Chan - latin dancer n blur guy
  10. Tiffany Kwok aka. San San the hao po pornstar - arabian dancer
  11. Allison Chaang - latin dancer, James Bond's wife
The video is altogether funny. We retook it almost ten times. It funny with the diff. music and all. The Arabian dancers danced with a rubberband string .. how strange. The worst thing is when suddenly everyone hugs the bad guy and James Bond .. haha. For the end, James Bond's supposed to go "I'm Bond, James Bond" but it sort of got cut off so all you hear is "Bond" .. Enjoy

Happy B'day To Me !!

* Selamat Hari Jadi Kepada Saya * Feliz Cumpleaños a Mí *

My birthday's finally here. My 15th by the way. Probably going to celebrate together with my aunt at my uncle's steamboat thing at his house at sierra seputeh later on in the evening. Its ironic that my aunt jacklyn's b'day falls on the same day as me. We just end up greeting each other every single year .. haha. There's probably gonna be lots of relatives there .. Counting on amanda to come coz I want the O.C. Season 3 DVD ..

In something unrealted to my hari jadi, there
was an article on our school concert in the star yesterday. Really shocked to see it since like the concert has already past for almost two weeks. It appeared in the metro section, pg 19 so go check it out. Unfortunately there were only two pictures published, one of the dikir barat and the other of the thai soldiers dance. You can see me quite clearly all the way behind with the choir in one of the pics on the paper . . the red circle in the soldiers dance points to me ..

Chances are that our school probably wrote it and
sent it to the star. Mr. Peter always says "we do not advertise in the newspaper about our school's achievements" but it looks like its happening though not directly. I didn't see any reporter person there at all or were we told of any ..

In today's newspaper, I was very much entertained by a caricature that had much to do with one of my posts. It was actually drawn based on the flight delays of our silly malaysian airlines. Passengers of MAS and Air Asia are apparently facing lots of delays particularly the domestic flights. Some last up to 3 hours apparently. They had been blasted by Transport Minister, Datuk Chan Kong Choy and have a week to start bucking up.

MAS and Air Asia however are pointing fingers at each other and to others including Malaysia Airports Berhad. They also claim that their delays were mostly unavoidable. There is also lots of congestion in klia because they apparently only utilise one runway at times. Its not like lots of planes fly in and out of klia. Compare it to Los Angeles and London Heathrow where planes literally line up on the runway to depart.

Gotta go prepare soon for steamboat ..

Sagano @ Renaissance Hotel

You must be wondering why but I went out yet again today. Thanks to my aunt staying in china who usually comes back twice a year. Today we were treated for lunch at Sagano, Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Its on the second floor so its not the yucky coffehouse downstairs.

Sagano is a really nice Japanese restaurant which combines buffet together with the usual ala-carte main course. Not my first time patronising it. If i'm not mistaken, its my third or fourth time. Their buffet has all the usual sushi, fried stuff and the little condiments plus dessert. The really good stuff only comes in the ala-carte main course.

I ordered Soft-Shell Crab and Prawn Tempura which came with rice, miso soup and cawan-mushi. Most of the others had Beef Teppanyaki though. I was desperate for something deep fried .. hehe. The overall meal isn't that expensive per person considering its in a hotel. If I'm not mistaken, its about rm40 to rm60 per person for unlimited buffet and one ala-carte main course.

Sagano has very nice decor suited to it. Being a Japanese restaurant at all, it isn't all bright and shiny. Quite dim and gloomy thus creating that silent relaxing kinda ambience .. lol .. sound like some kononnya astetic person. They used lots of those like Japanese paper screen things usually for doors I think. The place we sat was facing a huge glass panel overlooking the hotel front. Very nice and we saw paratroopers continuosly diving down KL Tower. Probably some merdeka thing.

I used to think that this was like the best Japanese buffet-like restaurant in town but after going to the one in Shangri-la, its kind of on par. The one in Shang is fully buffet and you can reserve a VIP Jap room if you have the Shangri-la members card thing. The room's really nice. There is also Saisaki Jap buffet at Menara UOA at Jalan Pinang.

Whichever one you plan to go to, you'll definitely enjoy the food unless of course you're some anti-japan extremist. For some top-class korean food, I would recommend Koryo-Won in Kompleks Antarabangsa, Jalan Sultan Ismail which actually is connected to Crowne Plaza Hotel. They apparently have a branch at Starhill Gallery but don't know whether that one's nice. I have lots of sentimental memories at the old one.

The holidays are ending and I still haven't done any of my homework. Gotta go to uncle's house for steamboat tomorrow night. Its my birthday tomorrow .. finally !! Enjoy the pics . .

Stupid KL Traffic

Today was my day out at mid-valley with frens. Had been looking forward to one of these since early this year. I must say that I was somehow invited almost at the last minute. The people who went are kenneth, krystal, jiam , jia wei, yoong jie, caryn and nee ling. Also met jiaw and krystal's frens edmond and joshua. Saw a few people there namely rambert, leong wai and sadly, wi lik .. He was there I suspect on a date with someone from wms whose name I shall not expose ..

I reached there at about 11.30 which was actually quite early. All of us only arrived at about 1.00 when we had lunch before proceeding to the cinema. Before lunch, I was glad that jiam and jiaw showed me the shops that sold
model airplanes. Expensive though considering I can but something double its size at a cheaper price online.

I was originally not planning to watch a movie because there was n
othing on that interested me. Either it was boring or I had already watched it. I then received a call telling me that the "Snakes On A Plane" DVD had broke in half so I was forced to catch the 3.00 pm show. I finished last at 5.oo pm . Yet another long 2 hour show. It costs me 12 bucks and I cannot imagine how much cash I've spent on all the movies I've been watching.

The movie was just action packed. It had the most impossible plots of all coz you can't bring so many snakes on a plane in the f
irst place. The story generally develops like how every other air tragedy movie does. Samuel L. Jackson did fit the main character's role quite well . I'll just list some highlights of the show so as not to bore you all :
  • A couple makes out in the toilet (mile-high club) when next a snake attacks them. With all the shouting and banging, the flight attendants actually thought they were getting it on very well.
  • Man sticks out cock to pee not noticing the snake appearing from the toliet bowl and the bloody snake bites his cock .. sick especially for guys. Next time, I'll look at where i'm peeing into .. lol
  • A woman opens a sick bag to vomit but a snake inside just lashes out into her mouth killing her that way .. her mouth was all watery and bubbly after that
  • Samuel L. Jackson shoots a hole in the plane to suck all the snakes out. Generally things get sucked out because of pressure. The people don't cause they are strapped onto their seats. In a real-life situation, the seats would ge sucked out too.
  • Both the pilots die and eventually a guy who has only played 'Flight Simulator' on PS2 but clocked 2,000 hours succesfully lands the plane. So much for the PS2.
After the movie ended, all of us had a fun game of bowling. We played two rounds to be exact. I sucked at it though I can clearly remembering myself being quite pro in it five years back which coincidentally was the last time I played. Only finished at about 6.30.

Next, I was supposed to go to my aunt's house in taman connaught, cheras to have chicken rice. She and my uncle cooks excelent kai fan. However, because of the stupid traffic I couldn't go. I was told to go home and my sister would bring back dinner for me. I waited at the taxi stand from 6.30 to 8.00 for a taxi. The traffic was just horrible .. I only reached home at 9.10. .. hate traffic !! I have to even pay extra to the taxi driver .. blek

Now waiting for chicken rice .. hopefully its still hot and yummy ..

Incarnacion

I haven't been doing much this week. Before the holidays started, I promised and hoped to study my history and science subjects. Till today however I haven't touched a single book. Besides my add maths which I did in school on saturday, I haven't completed any homework at all .. mati.

I've been either on the computer and waking up late all the time. Went out to
klcc today with cousins to watch nacho libre. Aunt treated us at little penang. I ordered unnatural tasting char keow teoy. Before the movie, I went to kinokuniya. I saw terng sheng, schwep bing, hann jiunn and a few more on the way.

I surprisingly bought
2 books from kino today. The new nicholas sparks book - At First Sight and sadly The Devil Wears Prada, apparently nice. Rather read before watching the movie and I'm quite sure people would wanna borrow it. I just found out the nick sparks book is the continuation from true believer so damn it .. i'll have to buy true believer too. Besides I plan to buy The Wedding too which is the continuation from The Notebook. I'm still waiting for someone to get me the set of dan brown books.

As I said, the original plan was to watch nacho libre which we did. There were lots of people in klcc and especially at the cinemas. I've always wondered why there are people crowding around some screen outside the cinema entrance watching trailers. Today I became one of them because we can apparently only go into the respective halls 5 minutes before showtime. So, there I was standing there watching trailers holding
popcorn and coke.

Nacho Libre was just an ok film. It seemed extremely funny at first from all the media coverage and though the fact that jack black's starring in it but it was overall
lame. I guess it was all the lameness that supposedly made it funny. The laughter was just short-lived at times. All in all, its the story of Nacho (Jack Black) who generally is some i would say silly worker cum slave in some church in mexico.

Being treated badly in church, he aspires to be a
champion boxer. He sucks at it but goes out every night to get knocked out still gaining some cash. Not to forget is his little crush on some hot nun who eventually empowers him to be the champion. He also has some stupid side-kick by the name of Esquelito (not sure whether its the right spelling). School of Rock is a 1000000 times better than this . .

Overall Rating : 2/5

Before I forget, I came upon fucking irritating people in the cinema again. There were these three malay boys sitting in front of me and my cousin. There were laughing like five year old girls whenever sumthin lame came up. They also had to comment in malay loudly like
" eww .. busuknya .. tak leh tahan lah kalau saya". Come on .. couldn't they just laugh like normal teenage boys. Their little girl giggles are not appealing or anything .. it's irritating to the max !! So much for "Amalan Murni Budaya Kita". Learn some cinema etiquette .. you jakuns !!!

MTV Curse ?

If you noticed, sorry for all the backdating.

CONDOM TESTERS: Condom maker Durex has embarked on a nationwide campaign to seek married Malaysians above 18 to be condom testers. Those interested can log on to www.durex.com/my.
- From the Star a few days back

Its confirmed, even The Barkers have broken up. The MTV curse has worked it way yet again this time divorcing Travis Barker of Blink 182 and Shanna Moakler a former Miss USA. All the couples who have documented their marriages or after-marriage love lives on MTV reality shows have all divorced. The latest being the Barkers who filed an anulment sometime last week. Sad though considering they have children ..

Only someone as attentive as me would have noticed this odd recurring incident thus concluding it as the MTV Curse .. perasan . I seriously wonder why this keeps on happening. Let us look back at all the 'MTV couples' who have broken up as a result of showing off their lives on camera to MTV viewers.

It all started at the end of last year with the divorce of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey who happily exhibited their after-marriage lives on 'Newlyweds' thinking it would make them a stronger couple. One thing I clearly learned from 'Newlyweds' was how bimbotic Jessica Simpson can get. Looks like the aim of their reality show certainly backfired.

Next up we have
Dave Navarro and the hot Carmen Elektra who divorced almost a month ago. This couple was generally the first to have a reality show. They documented their preparations towards their big day from the production of wedding invitations featuring their naked bodies to the moment they said "I do" on the altar.

I must admit that I somehow saw this divorce coming since Rockstar Supernova started. Dave Navarro indirectly flirts a lot with the host
Brooke Burke where he plays the role of one of the judge like people. The on-screen chemistry can clearly be seen. You don't just go saying "Brooke, you're looking hot tonight" with a horny smile without any intentions deep inside. I wouldn't be surprised if Dave Navarro hooks up with Brooke Burke next.

Putting MTV aside, we have yet another reality tv couple who broke up as well. They are the unforgettable pairing of
Britney Spears and Keven Federline. Who can ever forget? They too documented their love lives and we all knew what happened next. He probably just wants britney's cash for all his bling-bling. Its just shameful that britney is pregnant with another child of his which she claims was accidental ..

Maybe its just the consequences of being on a reality show that breaks couples up. My sick mind can only point out that its because they have no privacy to shag things up if you get what I mean .. I can only
laugh at the next celeb couple that falls prey to this conspicuos plot ..

So, anyone interested in becoming
condom testers .. I'm too young and not married .. haha

Mind Your Words . . .

“I sound like, stupid, if I speak Malay, so I’ll speak English,”

Those were the exact words that came out of Sharifah Amani's mouth when accepting her award for Best Actress at the recent 19th Malaysian Film Festival. This has caused an outrage in the country especially for Sharifah Amani who incurred the wrath of Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister, Datuk Dr Rais Yatim. Although this may have been up on peako's blog long ago, I would like to go in depth on this issue.

She has truly become my lifetime idol if she had really meant it. The ironic thing is that I had stumbled across this article in the library last week during lunch just after I had done my spontane
ous malay oral where I had cursed the language for being so silly. Malay may be easy but its sentence structures are confusing snd tough at times. To defend herself, she put her age as a factor, explaining that she asked for permission to speak English as the Malay she spoke is “young Malay” with all the youth lingo, which would be inappropriate for the formal event since it would be deemed as broken and inappropriate malay by those who attended the event.

If that wasn't already bad, she the added this while speaking :

"If films (like Gubra) taint our culture, let’s do them more often"

This statement although not as offensive as the first would be giving the wrong message when heard spontaneously. Again, Sharifah Amani had actually meant that since local production guidelines were not as stringent as before, more local films of high caliber with honest, modern day
content should be produced.

Whatever she had meant, we just hope this issue will mellow down soon and be forgotten by all. Sharifah Amani without doubt is an excellent actress for her age having acted so well in Sepet and Gubra. She definitely deserved the award. Hopefully this will give us all a lesson to mind our words ..

Hollywood too has not been spared from recent cases of what I shall describe as verbal abuse. This abuse was committed by Mel Gibson a few weeks back. Yes, ladies and gentleman, the talented and passionate director of Passion of the Christ, that Mel Gibson.

These offensive words were muttered when Mel Gibson was arresyed for DUI (driving under the influence) by a police officer. He was arrested driving on the
Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu for driving drunk and was still having alcohol in his hands if i'm not mistaken. Those words may have been intentional but it did come out of that drunk mouth of his and the officer heard it clearly.

"The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," and asked the officer, "Are You a Jew" .

He may be expressing his anger towards the Israeli atatcks on Lebanon but it was just not the right way to do so. He has now angered many of his fellow Holywood Jew celebrity friends. America does have a reasonable amount of Jews and even in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Mel Gibson has been sentenced and who knows what will come out of him next ..

The Friday Star paper had reported some catfight surprisingly between two local Malaysian actresses while filming. Their movie catfight scene turned real when it went too extreme involving lots of slapping and hair-pulling. The filming crew did eventually find out as well. One of the actresses involved is
Nisdawati Nazaruddin. Full article here.

Birthday List

My holiday so far has not started on a high note. Although today was a saturday, I had to wake up at 5am like any other school day. Not to study of course but to accompany my sis, Brenda to the school's form 1 entrance exam. I just hate waking up early on weekends and holidays for useless reasons.

If that wasn't sad enough, I had to wait till the whole thing was over at 1 pm. My sis better thank me fr that. My time in school was dragged on till 2.30 coz madam susan wanted to finish her marking. I have to complement the maths teachers for marking all the entrance papers in a relatively short period. I saw the malay teachers still marking probably because of all the bloody karangans they have to read.

I was lucky most of the prefects were there to at least chat to. Knowing I was gonna be bored, I brought a long my siri analisis add. maths work and amazingly finished it. You cannot imagine how much time I had .. Then again, there was tarrant bugging me non-stop. Hopefully my sister gets into wms next year. She actually claimed all three papers were ok. I was struggling with my bm paper back then .. haha

Today is the 19th of August 2006. This only means that my birthday is exactly a week away !! Yeah, everyone claps hands and says hurray .. I shall be comp
iling my first ever birthday wish-list which may very well drag on till christmas as well as next year's birthday. Anyone who would get me anything from the list would be greatly thanked and worshipped upon by brandon .. haha. I hope santa hears me ..

Brandon's 2006 B'Day Wish List
1. Creative Zen Vision : M

I seriously need a new music player to replace my now almost crappy Samsung YP-T5 which only has 256MB of memory. It joystick thing doesn't work well anymore. This magnificent 30GB one would seriously satisfy my need for a media player for more songs and pictures.

2. Panic! At The Disco Album - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out

I'm sure many out there will agree with me that Panic! is one of the best bands yet. Can't seem to find this album anywhere in malaysia. Tell me when it comes out coz jiam and jiaw will probably get it for me.

3. The Afters Album - I Wish We Could All Win

Yet another album I can't find here but can't wait to get hold of. Really sentimental songs with nice tunes. Sang the popular 8th & Ocean theme song - Beautiful Love.
4. A LCD Screen for my computer

I am currently using an old CRT monitor whose protection screen thing has broken and gone missing. A LCD screen of any brand preferably Samsung would do my eyes good ..

5. Nintendo DS Lite

Nintendo fan always and forever. Mind you that this is the new Lite edition released this year and not its bigger, bulkier predecessor known simly as Nintendo DS.

6. An All-In-One Printer

This would really free up more space around my computer. My scanner's on top of the monitor while the printer's at the bottom. Will definitely leave me with more air to breathe ....

7. Skymarks A380 Model Plane

If I get this, "I will keep it as a treasure to last my whole life long" - from Who Will Buy ..
Scale - 1:200, Length - 14.36 in (36.46cm), Wingspan - 15.71 in (39.90cm)

librarians or library prefects had their annual lunch, get-together thing at mandarin oriental on wednesday. It would be more suitably known as a farewell like how the prefects call theirs. We had the choice of legend and swiss garden. Mandarin was obviously the best choice in spite of the RM 78.50 price tag.

I must add that I am already bored of mandarin oriental's buffet. I've ate the same thing there too many times even on one occasion, my birthday. I absolutely love
lemon garden at shangri-la even though I've eaten there a number of times. I must note that they have an excellent chocolate fountain there. Better than dipping strawberries in chocolate at mandarin. Before I forget, Equatorial hotel has the worst buffet selection I've tasted. Never ever pay to eat there .. Yoong jie wants next year's lunch to be at some mamak. NO WAY ! I'm insisting to go shangri-la next year. Hopefully it comes true ..

One thing I love about these out-of-school events is definitely missing almost half of the school day. Furthermore you don't even necesarrily need to go back to school after the event. One funny thing happened today. I was asked to help carry a
cake with johann aka. mango to matthew's car for the 3 principals. They drove there while we had to use public transport wearing our uniform. Mr. Peter actually spoke to me in an unusual 'have i seen you before' manner perhaps ignoring our not very interesting history. Mrs Peter asked me to help because I know how to get back to the hotel without getting lost .. blek

Went to klcc after the lunch. Kenneth, krystal, hari, yoong jie, may ling, arthur, wai shan and a few others went as well. They however left much earlier. I sadly went to watch
click at 5 all by myself. The cinema was quite full considering it was a weekday but then again it was at 5. I can't help complaining about how slow the workers are at the TGV klcc foodline. Almost missed the beginning of click.

Any movie featuring Adam Sandler will definitely be funny. It is one nice yet funny movie to watch. Seriously makes you think about all the stress we encounter in our daily lives. I was pitifully seated next to a very irritating man who had to laughs and occasionally snorts .. eww at even the lamest parts of the movie.

It wasn't boring as some people had told me it was. I definitely did not cry at the sad ending which nicholas actually thought I would cry for. As touching and abrupt as it may be, it was not enough to make me shed a
tear. The only movies which endings almost made me cry are A Walk To Remember and Lilo and Stitch.

Before leaving klcc, I managed to buy the
Angels and Airwaves album which I have been longing for. Fyi, its now on promotion for about rm 35. Its a birthday present by the way. For those who have never heard of this band, they're a newly-formed band. Their lead is the brilliant Tom DeLonge. I'm hooked on all of their songs. They just sound different, like out of the ordinary. Can't exactly explain but you'll probably know when you listen to one of their songs ..

Concert Pictures

These are some of the concert pictures as promised. Nothing much of the dancers. More of the choir and a lil of the backdrop .. Sadly, all of the pictures feature me in the most hideous make-up ever placed on my face. Gosh .. the eyeshadow and lipstick is just too strong. Like many said, I look like a damn chinese opera singer. Blek
