KL Is Rude

I had just finished watching the Spain vs. Saudi Arabia match quite a while ago. Spain didn't play as well as they did in the past two matches. A little sloppy this time but they still won 1-0! I would conclude from all 3 of Spain's matches that Fernando Torres is an excellent player. He had already scored 3 goals in 2 matches against Ukraine and Tunisia. Well, Raul, David Villa and a few more are good too. Spain's been really progresing well so far in the World Cup so I really hope they at least get to the semi-finals. I'm expecting a clash with footie-giants Brazil.

Escaping the World Cup phenomenon, we the people of KL received shocking (not so shocking to me) news that Kuala Lumpur's been rated the 3rd rudest city in a survey of 35 major cities around the world. I must say that this survey thing is kind of biased since
the three tests they conducted were whether shopkeepers said “thank you” after a small purchase, dropping papers to see if anyone helped to pick them up and holding a door long enough so that it does not slam in a person’s face. Although I must agree that KL-ites are rather rude especially in certain ghettho-ish places like Bukit Bintang, Chow Kit or Petaling Street for example.

The least rudest capital believe it or not is the ever so grand Donald Trump-ish, New York City. How can this be when its filled with slums and hobos living in dark alleys. It may just be the silly American charm .. lol. The rudest capital on the other hand is Mumbai in India. That's believable since the people would probably be too poor to show any courtesy. Lesson learnt from this - Malaysians or Kl-ites in particular must say 'thank you', help people pick up papers and hold the door for people . Haha .. Full list here.

Before I forget, there was also this 14 year old boy from Johor Bharu who was reportedly missing and was later found in Subang Jaya selling pirated VCD's. He apparently took up this job to pay up a RM 400 debt he owed through playing computer games .. sad. Didn't he know its illegal ??

Eau de toilette , eau de parfum 2

As promised, these are some of my most wanted fragances. So if anyone was nice enough to get me one for my birthday or anything, I would be as happy as can be. I'll "be so high, i swear i can fly" .. lol

Top of my list is the Bvlgari AQVA. I "fell in love" with this one ever since it first came out. Its probably just because I really like Bvlgari fragances. Plus, it has a very sleek rounded bottle design. BVLGARI AQVA is a vibrant, pure, and masculine, this crisp blend of mandarin and petit grain, spiced with sexy mineral amber, evokes a brisk, aromatic freshness, with an elegant Mediterranean touch.

Happy by Clinique is also on of my favourites. This fragrance reminda me of the resort I stayed at in Cebu. I'm not sure why but the resort smelt very much like this fragrance with that naturally tropical kind of aroma. Shucks, each and everyone reminds me of somewhere .. bleh. Happy for men is classified as a refreshing, citrus fragrance. This scent possesses a blend of citrus lemons, mandarins, oranges and grapefruit. This fragrance is packaged in a masculine bright orange bottle with a silver cap and comes in an orange box to match.

The next one on my list is the DKNY BE DELICIOUS. It is not as rotten as some of you think but invites you to take a 'juicy bite out of life' .. This fragrance melds the raw lushness of nature with the powerful sophistication of the big city with crisp, wet greens, modern woods, green apples and intoxicating coffee. Masculine to the core, its a fragrance for the modern man - dynamic, uplifting, but sensual and full of promises. Notes: Grapefruit, Juniper Berries, Quinine, Green Apple, Coffee Granita, Ocean Mist, Jasmine, Coffee Absolute Africa, Pomarose Apple, Applewood, Coffeewood, Dark Woods and Indonesian Patchouli.

These cute bottles of Giorgio Armani fragances are also on my list. They are the Emporio Armani White and Emporio Night Black.
Emporio Armani White incorporates vibrant notes of bergamot, lemon, mandarin are freshened by thyme and rosemary to create this masculine scent while Emporion Night Black possesses a blend of Bergamot, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Cayenne Pepper, Clary Sage, Absolute of Violet Leaf, Cardamom, White Pepper, Myrrh, Benzoin, Cedarwood, Patchouli. I used to sneakily spray some on myself because my step-father had these two bottles .. lol.

Another one of my Giorgio Armani favourites is the Acqua Di
Gio which contains the following fragrance notes; lavender, juniper, cumin and is accented with ylang-ylang, sandalwood and amber. This fresh fragrance is packaged in a white frosted bottle and is then enclosed in a clean white box with the logo in silver .. cool. My step-brother also really likes this perfume so we'll see who gets hold of it first.

Another fragrance which isn't really on my list but would recommend to some desperate male beckham fans is the David Beckham Instinct Cologne by Coty (pic a lil blur). It is 'masculine, sexy and exceptional making it the perfect fragrance for the modern man. This distinctive scent is a blend of Orange, Mandarin and Italian Bergamot, with the middle notes Of Cardamom, Pimento and Staranise, finished Off With Vetiver, White Amber and Patchouli. I do not really like this one coz I find that it smells a little funny although I was quite fond of it when it first came out in Spain.

One of the newest fragrances on my most wanted fragrance would be believe it or not is the Paris Hilton by Paris Hilton o
ne. I tested in in the mall that day. Its freaking strong and I actually sneezed after a while. This is the first perfume produced by her. I had recently entered some contest by Galaxie to win her latest fragrance Just Me. They have six bottles each for men and women. Hope I win .. I didn't know that the one I tested was different from the one I hoped to win. Hopefully, the one I'll probably win will be as nice.

In The Star yesterday, there was some Father's Day contest thingi to win the Allure Homme Sport fragrance by Chanel. I may join the contest but I'll probably keep the fragrance to myself since my dad already has so many bottles of perfume that he barely uses.
Allure Sport possesses the freshness of Mandarin & Oranges blended with Tunsian Neroli, Aldehydes, Tonka Bean, White Musk, Amber, Black Pepper, Atlas Cedar, and Vetiver creating a sexy masculine fragrance. So, if you're interested to win the fragrance, grab hold of yesterday's Star newspaper. Good luck !! Click for larger views.

Eau de toilette , eau de parfum

Elegantly called the above, I have come to the subject of perfumes or colognes not because of jiam's recent blog entry but because I had wanted to do so for days. The ideas come truly plus instead of making up perfumes, I will be showing you all real ones which are my favourite .. lol

As you can see above, there is a picture of 5 colourful bottles of 'fragant water' on a dressing table. They significantly happen to be proudly owned by some perfume/cologne fanatic by the name of Brandon. Elarge the pic since no one would be able to recognize them in this view. From L-R they are : Contradiction - Calvin Klein (not opened yet), TOMMY -Tommy Hillfiger, Bvlgari BLV -Bvlgari, Cool Water - Davidoff and some Adidas sports spray.

As stated, I haven't opened the Calvin Klein one but it smelt nice when I tried it in the shops. Thanks to my mum who used to buy these perfumes in Israel for about 10 US$ during the clearance sales. I expect it to be more adult-ish since its lk CK. It is the result of the following top fragrance Notes - juniper, bergamot, lavender, sage, coriander and freesia, sandalwood, moss and cedar. This perfume is supposedly recommended for romantic use .. lol.

The ToMmY one is on the other hand a 14th birthday gift from my step-mum. It came with a bottle after-shave which I conveniently gave my dad.
This fine fragrance contains apple, spearmint, citrus and is accented with cinnamon, cranberry and orange. This perfume always reminds me of Spain coz I used to spray it all over my sweater and scarf. Ahhh .. wonderful Spain. I would say that this fragrance gives a sort of "balloonny" effect. I had another Tommy Hillfiger fragance which went M.I.A. on my return trip from Manila. Probably the stupid baggage people stole it.

The next one which is the BLV one is clearly my favourite one of all so far. I got it way back in 2003 from my mum. Well actually I first found out about it when someone was using it during the school's tokyo trip where I tagged along.. This one is a unique blend
between the spicy freshness of ginger and the deep, mellow scent of tobacco flower, which create a surprising sensation, marked by unexpected contrasts. It provides a similar calming effect of aromatherapy being not so strong.

The Cool Water, Davidoff one is quite a classic having been first produced in 1988.
It contains coriander, rosemary, sage and is accented with amber, oakmoss and sandalwood. I do not really know how to describe this one but I do occasionally wear this one to school .. lol. My step-brother got the the Deep Cool Water one instead since I didn't like that. The Adidas one is a sports deodarant kind of spray and not a cologne. I have a few more bottles since they were sold rather cheap in Manila. I bought it in the mall for about 300 pesos (about Rm 25) per bottle. I don't mind conveniently spraying this one around since its kinda cheap.

Well, that would be a summary of the fragances I currenly own. I'll probably posting about perfumes too next. Haha. If you read my last post, you have known that I've been blabbering about Paris Hilton's new song - "Stars Are Blind". Unfortunately, I saw the damn video on MTV today. God, its the sluttiest one ever. The entire 2 and a half minute features her doing her trademark slutty poses on some guy on the beach. She looked really happy doing so .. So much for the one who gained popularity from a sex tape. Before I may start having wild fantasies, I would prefer to shut that issue out of mind for now.

Viva España

Yes !! Spain won their first match 4-0 vs. Ukraine just a while ago in Zentralstadion, Leipzig. I feel so proud that they trashed Ukraine so hard .. mwahaha. Its not like Ukraine was that bad but I felt that there was just something wrong. Like Shebby Singh said on the post-match analysis, it was as if Ukraine was still a week behind the match. Even with the likes of the now Chelsea player, Andriy Shevchenko could they score a single goal. It was really bad for them that one of their players got a red card which I felt was rather unfair.

Xabi Alonso scored the first goal, followed with two more by David Villa and the last one by Fernando Torres. Xavi Fernandez surprisingly came out as Man of the Match although I felt that the 3 goal-scorers would have deserved it better. I was rather surprised too that Raul di not start from the beginning but came in as a substitute later on in the match. Talk had been circulating around Spain that Raul may not play as well as the younger players anymore and that it was better for him not to play aganst Ukraine. Crap talk .. I hope Spain does make it through this stage and proceed with even better performances.

On the other hand, I feel that the world is just going weirder day by day. Paying "special" mention to a gay teenage couple in Singapore names Colin and Kero, their blog just makes me sick. Not that I'm discriminating against gays or anything but please, be more realistic and cut short the lovey dovey, touchy parts of your lives. 'Lam lam sek sek' between the two of them isn't that fun to think of .. lol. They have garnered lots of attention owing to the fact that practically everyone I know have been to their blog and that they actually do have a fan club.

The next weird thing is about no one but silly Paris Hilton. From being hotel heiress to porn star to special guest on O.C. and finally biographical writer, she has finally decided to complicate our lives even more by releasing an album ?!! She practically has no voice and that stupid new single - "Stars Are Blind" is just so irritating from the very uncatchy tune to the silly voice. If you are that fanatical towards Paris Hilton, I would advise you to instead download "Screwed" which I had already heard last year without knowledge that she would actually release an album.

Tunisia vs. Saudi Arabia is on now but I'm gonna instead go to bed although i'll actually have to complete my add. maths and bio first . To add to my already half-filled knapsack of sorrows , I had "succesfully" failed Moral this term as I expected. I hope I will not have to endure the pain of having extra Moral classes with Matthews after school daily.

Post American Idol Buzz

Katharine McPhee
,my choice for being the 2006 Am
erican Idol has signed with Simon Fuller's 19 Recordings Limited and RCA, in conjunction with legendary music industry executive Clive Davis, chairman of BMG U.S. and RCA Records. She will have her first single released on June 27. The double-A sided "Over the Rainbow" / "My Destiny" / will be available in stores and as a digital download. She performed both songs on the finale of American Idol. "My Destiny" was written by Harry Sommerdahl, Hanne Sorvaag, Tim Baxter and "Over the Rainbow" is the classic song written by Harold Arlen and E.Y. "Yip" Harburg for the motion picture "The Wizard of Oz."

Being my most favourite Idol contestant so far, she is much better than my top choice of Carrie Underwood from last year's American Idol in terms of her voice and song genre. Carrie Underwood's country music doesn't really appeal with me anymore but its no doubt soothing at times like Some Hearts. Although i'm such a "great" fan, I'll probably download her songs illegally through the Net .. lol. Let's hope her real album will be out soon enough. The McPhever rox ..

The American Idol winner, Taylor Hicks whom I do not support at all will also be coming out with his singles album featuring two songs he sang in the American Idol finals. They are "Takin' It to the Streets" by the Doobie Brothers and "Do I Make You Proud" which are due to be out on June 13 according to his new labels, 19 R ecordings Limited and Arista Records. Well, Taylor Hicks fans aka the Soul Patrol will be happy to note so.

Meanwhile, the American Idols Live Tour 2006 while be going on this summer of 06. This ongoing tradition will include the top 10 finalists of American Idol. They perform all around America in sold-out venues. Although they rarely perform overseas, they did do so last year in Singapore (arghh .. how bout m'sia !?).

Other that that, the American Idol Season 5 Encores album featuring the top 12 finalists singing their best performances from this season is already out in the US but i'm not sure whether its also out here. The tracks on the CD a re as follows :
  1. What About Love - Melissa McGhee
  2. Superstition - Bucky Covington
  3. I'm Every Woman - Mandisa
  4. Wanted Dead or Alive - Chris Daughtry
  5. Father Figure - Ace Young
  6. Takin' To The Street - Taylor Hicks
  7. Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours) - Lisa Tucker
  8. Walkin' After Midnight - Kellie Pickler
  9. Moody's Mood For Love - Elliot Yamin
  10. Think - Katherine McPhee
  11. Midnight Train To Georgia - Paris Bennett
  12. When I Fall In Love - Kevin Covais

Malaysian Issues 2

There has been many significant changes on my blog. I changed my template last week and added the Hit counter thingy which surprisingly has already hit the 100 mark !! I added a CBox a few days back while today, I added the Babel Fish translation thing. So, you can always read my blog in spanish or jap if you don't seem to understand .. lol

I bet everyone was probably watching England vs. Paraguay last night which ended with England winning 1-0. Hurrah to all England fans out there. Instead of watching the match on a huge projecter at my uncle's world cup party, I instead joined my cousins watching 'I Not Stupid 2' for the second time which ended up with
amanda wanting to marry shaun lee and joshua ang. I will not also forget the short moment of "cam-whoring" in front of the tele. I hope to catch a repeat of the match later on today.

While us lucky ones over here are enjoying the World Cup to its max, some others in the other half of Malaysia (meaning Borneo and not Singapore) are unable to even to catch a glimpse of it. According to the Star, 20% of Sarawakians which I'm guessing are the "ulu-ulu pedalaman" ones will be left out of the action because they do not have electricity supply in the areas. They also happen to not have treated piped-water supply and no modern sewerage system. So much for the Pak Lah administration ..

Coming back again to Pak Lah it has been reported today that he has eleven unsettled traffic 'samans'. Pak Lah claims he did not know about it till he was informed by the Deputy Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan. He added that he would pay up by tomorrow. DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng claimed that the police had given Abdullah discounts worth 70% on his 11 summonses from RM 3300 to about RM 1000 ... magnifico.

Three cars with the registration plates WJB2800, WLP3142 and WCH13 are registered under Pak Lah’s name. He said who was driving the cars on those days. Everyone can now go pry on n stalk the cars with those number plates. Humiliating if you ask me as a prime minister to be told that I have eleven unpaid summonses especially after the whole Dr. M incident.

One more interesting local issue is one which I call "Mr. Kacip Fatimah". If you have read the papers, you would have come across the story of some Malay guy missing in the Gua Musang jungle and was fortunately found by some orang asli. The reason why he's Mr. Kacip Fatimah is because he had been surviving in the jungle eating only Kacip Fatimah shoots.

To all those confused ones out there, Kacip Fatimah happens to be a Malay herbal sexual aphrodisiac for women. I can generally say that Kacip Fatimah is the opposite half of Tongkat Ali which is for men. I am now wondering whether it would have any side effects on the poor guy like what happens when taking steroids ie. enlarged chest n shrinking testicles. Well I'm guessing the 'Power Root' would be happy enough to employ this guy to be theinew spokesperson. Its better than having Mawi doing all the adverts .. haha.

Pfizer, the main producers of yet another modern aphrodisiac Viagra should start some new research over here in Malaysia on Tongkat Ali and Kacip Fatimah. They may probably be able to come with a new product or something although many locals are already doing so. I have to also add that while I was in Spain, the Pfizer guy would come to deliver viagra to residents who buy them in my mum's place every week ! Desperate erectile dysfunctional people ..

[ This entry has again been done with some help of The Star newspaper. ]

Malaysian Issues ..

* supposed to be posted on 10 June 2006*

Last night's opening football match was quite a spectacular one and was precedded by an almost wondeful short opening ceremony. That started I think with the legendary Pele holding the World Cup trophy coming out with international
German model Claudia Schiffer. There were some German dances with ladies having extremely wide dresses .. weird. The last thing about that ceremony I can tell are the performances by Il Divo and Toni Braxton as well as women with gigantic dresses being lifted high up the stadium. I find one of this year's official world cup songs nice - Time of Our Lives by those stated above. It's certainly better than 2002's which was Boom by Anastacia.

As I was saying, Germany scored 4 goals in total
with Costa Rica having only 2. Philip Lahm scored the first while the fourth was by Miroslav Klose. The next match which I didn't bother watching was Poland vs. Ecuador - 0-2. Coming back to my title, I will be presenting you all with the following :-

The Mahathir and Badawi Showdown

As many Malaysians already know, there has always been a constant rift between our PM, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (Pak Lah) and his predecessor, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir. This week however Dr. Mahathir came out with his harshest criticism yet of Pak Lah administration. The scene of events are as follows:

Wednesday - June 7 2006
Dr. Mahathir lashed out that Pak Lah had not been his first choice as successor but second after the current Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. According to Dr. M, Najib received the highest votes but he decided to choose Pak Lah anyway not elaborating on what votes he meant (formality i'm guessing).

Dr. M then claimed that Pak Lah had dismantled his projects when he was PM and betrayed his trust.
Dr M said he was hurt by allegations that he used up all government money and the Government was bankrupt because of his mega-infrastructure projects during his 22 years of power. He compared this as "helping many people only to have them stab him in the back".. harsh. When asked again, he says that Pak Lah had given him "minor bruises" and that he had the habit of chosing the wrong people.

He added that it was not his plan to interfere with the Government after stepping down but t
here were certain things that were promised by the incoming Government but it not only did not do things as promised but reversed many decisions made (by the former Government) when he (Pak Lah) was still in the Government. He thought this would be carried out during Pak Lah's period in power but new things cropped up and promises were not kept.

Thursday - June 8 2006
Almost all cabinet members are furious over Dr. M's criticism. Among the reasons given by various people are that having stepped down, he should not try controlling the Govt. n let Pak Lah do it his way.
Parties under the Pak Lah led national coalition of Barisan Nasional in particular MCA and MIC also voiced out their strong support for the current prime minister's leadership.

Even Najib himself came out urging
all political leaders to stand by Abdullah and support his leadership. He voiced that he himself would be standing by Pak Lah. He added that every prime minister will do his best depending on the circumstances of the time and even Dr. M did his best during his time as prime minister.

Friday - June 9 2006
"Dr. Mahathir is free to say anything" - the main reply of Pak Lah towards Dr. M's criticisms. Pak Lah added that since Malaysia is a democratic country, Tun (Dr. M) is free to say anything and he wouldn't mind. Pak Lah said he needed to fulfill the mandate given to him by the Malaysians
during the general election to the Barisan Nasional administration under his leadership. Pak Lah said that with the Ninth Malaysian Plan already rolled out, the 10th and 11th will follow up soon enough.

Political leaders meanwhile are still being stoic in defending Pak Lah's leadership . Some have also advised the two to make up as this ongoing war of words would not be beneficial and may affect the country in some ways. It has also been pointed out that Dr. M had receive the same comments and remarks about his leadarship in his early years as prime minister.

Saturday - June 10 2006
Dr. M stressed that he is not picking up a fight with Pak Lah but merely wanted answers to questions regarding policies abandoned by the current government. Dr Mahathir singled out four issues: the Government’s decision to scrap the Johor bridge (main concern of Dr M .. if you ask me), the sale of MV Agusta, the issuance of Approved Permits (AP) for car imports, and why Proton Holding Bhd chief executive officer Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff’s contract was not renewed.

Among the interesting statements I personally picked out in Dr M's rebuttal towards the Cabinet minister's reactions towards his outburst are as follows - "I’m interested in finding answers to why Agusta was sold to an Italian company with a two-Euro capital.", "Why do you sack a chief executive officer (of Proton) who has been managing well and made the company profitable? And why appoint somebody who made it unprofitable, and lose RM500mil?", "Why was the (Johor) bridge not built when work had already started and it was already agreed to by the Cabinet and when Singapore was not complaining?".

Dr. M also
expressed disappointment that some ministers who were also in his Cabinet were questioning his right to criticise instead of answering his questions. He also commented who that they were once his cabinet ministers who happened to agree with everything he said but things now changed with a new prime minister around.

**

I have some of my own opinions on this issue too. First, I do agree with a bunch out there that Najib would have made a better prime minister. I will not further clarify why so that I do not upset the feelings of other people out there. Those closest to me know why I prefer Najib. Well, I'll just have to wait till Pak Lah steps down I guess.

On the MV Augusta issue, I do not know the in-depths of it but I must say that it was rather ridiculous for it to be sold with a two-euro capital. On the Johor Bridge issue however, I most certainly must go with Dr. M. The project was nearly finalised during his time as PM. So why cancel it off just because Singapore wanted some airspace for training n some of our sand. We torture them enough already with the daily supply of shit water which they proudly call NEwater. The government covers this issue up with an excuse that Malaysians are not willing to give up airspace and sand to Singapore. Just another lame cover-up ...

Disclaimer : Most of the info used for my articles are extracted from the valuable resources of Star Newspaper. On my own opinions, no one including the government has the right to take action against me .. This is a DEMOCRATIC nation where freedom of speech or kebebasan bersuara with limitations is practised. Through all I have stated, I have not at all gone overboard ..

World Cup Is Here !!

June 9 2006 / 9.7.06 - The day the World Cup starts in Germany. The day has arrived where football fans are united fanatically for one reason - football. For some miserable ladies, it is the time where thier husbands in a way do not care about them and dominate the television sets traeting it as thier wives instead. Funny thing is, there is this one group of women in Germany or Holland I think who are petitioning for the World Cup to be abolished. Must be mad .. such an impossible task.

As I have stated the 'greatest event on Earth' officially starts today. The first match will be played at about 11.15 pm tonight (local time) on
Astro Channel 83 and NTV 7. Before that, the opening ceremony will start at 10.15 pm. The match will be between Germany and Costa Rica. I presume that Germany will win though. It will be played in one of the stadiums which I think is the most magnificent stadium among the others this World Cup which is the Allianz Arena. It has a unique design and flashy changeable colours on its outside at night. It is also one of the most technologically advanced stadiums in Germany with inflatable cushions as seats .. cute.

On which teams I'm supporting, I'll be supporting
Espana (Spain). I just love Spain. Their first match will be vs. Ukraine. If they don't do well however, I think England or Brazil will succeed. Brazil have Ronaldinho (Player of the Year 05), Ronaldo, Robinho, Kaka and many other talented players. England on the other hand are lucky that Wayne Rooney will finally be able to play from the start. Among others, they have David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen and others on the squad. We'll just watch on and see .. just support your own favourite teams. So, go Spain !! Make Spain proud.

The Ecuadoreans have colds. The Angolans are shivering. Trinidad and Tobago players stuffed their hands deep in their pockets as they took the field for a friendly. These are how some of the teams are feeling now in Germany. Despite already entering summer, temperatures are still low and dropping in some parts of Germany especially in the northern parts. Teams from tropical countries which players not based in Europe are those mainly affected. In fact, a few days back light flakes of snow was actually dropping where children were actually able to construct mini-snowmans. Let's pray for the best weather.. Full article here.

If there are desperate enough fans in our school who would stay awake till 5 in the morning to watch, I salute you. Just as long as you don't fall asleep in school in front of any teacher .. lol. I would love to see that though. I think certain teachers in our school may excuse you once or twice. They may probably face the same problems. There are always repeats in the day rite ..

My Music

Since I have nothing else to blog about, I'll just be listing down the top 16 songs that I think are certainly worthwhile downloading which by the way totally rocks. Go download them coz they're nice. Grouped in no particular order.
  1. For You I Will (Confidence) - Teddy Geiger
  2. Who Knew - Pink
  3. Hips Don't Lie - Shakira
  4. What's Left Of Me - Nick Lachey
  5. The Adventure - Angels and Airwaves
  6. Stay With You - Goo Goo Dolls
  7. Beatiful Love - The Afters
  8. You're All I Have - Snow Patrol
  9. California - Phantom Planet
  10. Promiscous - Nelly Furtado
  11. When It All Falls Apart - The Veronicas
  12. Move Along - All American Rejects
  13. High - James Blunt
  14. Because You Live - Jesse McCartney
  15. Rush - Aly & AJ
  16. Perfect Time of Day - Howie Day
On top of that, there have been a few new programmes on Star World and MTV which I have been watching. Among them is "Beauty and the Geek" on Star World. It is a reality show where you have 7 geeks being matched up with 7 hot beauties. They live in the same house, sleep on the same beds and participate in the stuff together. When I mean geeks, they truly are. I haven't seen such people at all in my life. You don't even find them in pur school .. thank god while the beauties are serious bimbo's who did not know how to spell words like 'tattoo' and 'calendar'.

Generally, there are two tasks, one for the geek n one for the beauty which are partnered. They have to teach each other on these issues. The most recent challenges were about fashion for the geeks and for the beauties, rocket science n astronomy. I guess you can figure out the type of challenges given to each one. The winners are then able to pick 2 other groups to face elimination where the two teams are asked questions about their challenge topics. The group with the lowest scores evidently get eliminated.

I personally dislike one of the geeks named
Richard. That's him up there. You'll know if you watch. He's so irritating and is such a suck up. Despite being a geeky kinda show, there were still scandals where the gals started falling for one of the "hot" geeks there. Well, isn't that just the usual thing about reality shows. Fyi, two episodes are shown on Star World every Wednesday from 8 - 10 pm. An interesting thing to note is that this reality show is co-produced by Ashton Kutcher, the undeniable Master of Punk'd. In US, they're already showing Season 2 with Season 3 coming on. Must be good I guess ..

Another new show that I've been watching is 8th & Ocean on MTV. Yet another reality show but its about modelling .. lol. It's created by the same producers of Laguna Beach. Well, it revolves around the lives of 10 very talented female and male models in popular Ocean Beach, Miami, Florida namely
Adrian, Kelly, Vinci, Sabrina, Tracie, Talesha, Teddy, Briana, Sean and Britt. They all work under a rather prestigious modelling agency called Irene Marie Management. They all live in this apartment-like place with all the other models. They stay there waiting for job opportunities constantly going on casting calls and of course fashion shows.

The models go on regular photo shoots for clients interested in them. There are both guys and gals. Each week you just watch their lives pass with competition, jealousy and romance. I'm expecting the main character to be this new gal named Britt bcoz she's the first one introduced in the first episode. Also, the theme song of this show is Beautiful Love by The Afters .. nice.

I'm not sure when its shown but one thing I'm sure of is that its shown on MTV. I watched on Saturday afternoon last week. Can anyone tell me what happened to MTV's show times? They seem to have revamped it. For example Pop Inc is now at 7 pm instead of 8. I don't even know when TRL's shown anymore although I managed to catch it at
2 AM !! It used to be from 9.30 - 10.30 pm. Anyone can tell me why and when it's gonna be shown ??

Celeb Babies Galore

This half of 2006 has truly been filled with lots of new babies especially celebrity babies. Coincidentally, today is the 6th of June 2006 (06.06.06). It is indeed a scary figure but instead of sharing gory stories of Satan, the devil and Anti-Christ, I would prefer to highlight the issue of celeb babies.

Let's start with the latest being the ever-so-lucky
Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt who was unfortunately born in Namibia =( on the 27th of May, daughter of the beautiful couple - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Her parents decided to deliver in Namibia for privacy. The government there played a big role by not allowing anyone from the press or media especially the paparazzi from entering the country unless they have permission from Brangelina.

This issue as well as the pictures made such a frenzy all around the world that they decided to release a picture of the baby for the magnificent price of
4.1 million US$. People magazine outbidded all other US weekly tabloids to obtain the precious baby Shiloh pictures. For some strange reason, the picture graced the cover of British mag, Hello instead. Before you start criticising Brangelina, they will be donating that sum of money to the poor for developments in Namibia. How generous I must say (typical celebrities) .. click for enlarged pic

Among the other celeb babies of the first half of 2006 are as follows ..

  • May 26 - Kingston James McGregor Rossdale ( son of Gwen Stefani and Gaven Rossdale)
  • May 31 - name unreleased ( son of Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky)
  • May 9 - Lexie (daughter of Steven Gerrard and Alex Curran)
  • May 6 - Sadie (daughter of Adam Sandler and Jackie Titone)
  • May 1 - Me’arah Sanaa (daughter of Shaquille O’Neal and Shaunie O’Neal)
  • May 1 - Gianna Marie-Onore (daughter of Kobe Bryant and Vanessa Bryant)
  • April 18 - Grier Hammond (daughter of Brooke Shields and Chris Henchy)
  • April 18 - Suri Cruise (daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes)
  • April 8 - Moses (son of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow)
  • March 20 - Barron William Trump (son of Donald Trump and Melania Knauss Trump)
  • March 16 - Tyler Lee (son of Chester Bennington and Talinda)
  • February 6 - James Michael (son of Michael Owen and Louise Owen)
Congratulations to all these new celeb parents of 06. Hope you'll enjoy being parents .. haha. You'll suffer soon enough but of course they have maids to handle this. The life of celebs .. nice. Other parent-to-be celebs include Matt Damon & Luciana Bozan in June, Holly Marie Combs & David Donohoe and Tom DeLonge & wife Jennifer in August, Shannon Noll & wife Rochelle and Juan Pablo Montoya & wife Elizabeth in September, Maggie Gyllenhaal & Peter Sarsgaard and Britney Spears & Kevin Federline in October as well as Anna Nicole Smith & ? in fall or winter.

Being the 06.06.06 day, one of the movies out today is The Omen. It is also a remake of an old movie which is getting more and more common of today's movies. The movie is supposedly about a boy who happens to be the Anti-Christ thus causing worlwide destruction aka. Judgement Day. Looks frightening and cool. So, go watch it people !!

Meet Teddy Geiger !!

On the Hitz.FM the other day, I heard about some Teddy Geiger competition thing. Generally, the ultimate Teddy Geiger can join this thing. The winner will be the President of the Teddy Geiger Fan Club. Hope to join. Furthermore, the winner will be able to go to Singapore for his first ever appearance in South East Asia. Not sure when's the date but I read that it may be on 15 or 16 June. I really wanna go but the gig is just so near. Not to forget though that the gigs probably on a schooling day and that singapore is not as near as ipoh.

For Teddy I Will Contest

hitz.fm and SONY BMG will be giving hitz.fm listeners out there a chance to become the President of Teddy Geiger's fan club in Malaysia! So if you are between 18 to 25 years old, a Malaysian and Teddy Geiger's biggest fan, we encourage you to take part in this promotion.

As a reward, you will be working hand in hand with SONY BMG to run the fan club (in terms of setting up a database to recruit members & running a website for the fan club) as well as to promote Teddy. Plus, the BIG catch is that you will have the chance to catch him live up close and personal in Singapore for his first ever South East Asia appearance.

All you have to do is take part in the For Teddy I Will contest to stand a chance to be the President of the Teddy Geiger Fan Club in Malaysia and to watch his showcase in Singapore. CLICK HERE FOR CONTEST

***

Anyone planning to go, tell me. I'll voluntarily tag along. Other than this, Coldplay will also be in Singapore on 10 July 2006 as part of their Twisted Logic Tour. Singapore will be their one and only South East Asian stop. Why does everyone perform in Singapore !! Malaysia is just 4 hours away ... aarggh

Is it just the "third-world" factor pulling them away or is there just no agents or people in malaysia organising concerts for them. If its the agencies, boo-hoo. Do a better job for the sake of the pitiful malaysians. We had fort minor and click five so far this year but singapore had both as well as backstreet boys, Jamie Cullum, Jason Mraz and a few more...

O.C. Season 3

To all O.C. fans out there especialy those out of the United States, Season 3 is officially over with a rather terrible ending. In conclusion, Ryan, Marissa, Seth and Summer graduate from school. Seth and Summer unexpectedly get into the same college. The sad thing is that Marissa supposedly dies in a car crash. Ryan was with her but did not die. Marissa died in his hands though . Sweet >.<

Not that I'm obsessed over Marissa aka. Mischa Barton but it'll just be different in the next season. It had always been four of them if you get w
hat I mean. Personally, I do think that Summer aka. Rachel Bilson is so much hotter. Well, it had been long rumoured that Mischa Barton did not want to continue with O.C. anymore but wanted to focus on a film career. So, the easiest thing for the producers is to kill of the character. Season 3 develops with yet more complications than Season 2 throughout the show with a bunch of new characters. It'll probably be filled with more sizzlng romances, conflicts, fights the "Orange County" style. I still haven't finished watching Season 2 nor Season 1 (amanda .. hurry) which I plan to do so this holiday.

To all desperate fans out there who are in dire need
to get hold of Season 3 episodes, you can always download it on the Net although I prefer to get the original DVD's. I just wanna .. hehe. Since my dad is frequntly going to U.S. till probably the end of the year, I'll probably ask him to get it for me since it'll probably be cheaper there. Fyi, it's out September 4 2oo6. SOURCE. I'm gonna try getting it as soon as possible. Other than that, eager fans should not fret as Season 4 is expected to be rolling out in the late Fall (autumn) of 2006. It will apparently focus on Kaitlin, Marissa's younger sibling. Anyways, this is the apparent cover art design for the Season 3 DVD. Enjoy !! (click for enlarged view / a lil cacated)

June Has Come

Yes people .. June is finally here. Half of year 06 gone and I don't get to go anywhere this hols.. sad. Well at least i did today. I had to go for choir practice today which meant waking up early .. aarghh as well as going to school facing the early morning office rush on the lrt. Not fun till bandaraya station that is. My sis on the other hand was gonna go to klcc with her frens n lepak.

So, my dad asked me to go to klcc after practice since it would be easier to pick me up there after my sis finishes. I tried with all my might to find someone to go to but no one would. Is klcc that horrible? Everyone just goes to 1U or MV. I ended up in kinokuniya reading a book for people planning for their round-the-world trips for the 1st time. Interesting and informative. Hopefully I may be able to do it someday .. dream oonnn. Met up with my sis n frens who originally planned to watch Da Vinci themselves (they're oly 12) when even I can't enter. Why must it be 18PL !!! They ended up watching a Canto show called We Are Family which my sis claimed was nice n had appearances by Shaun Lee n Joshua Ang (I Not Stupid) n Gurmit Singh as Phua Chu Kang of course.

As for me, I watched Poseidon despite having initial doubts of whether to watch Over The Hedge (lame), The Benchwarmers or X-3. Thus , I shall give you all my personal account of this Titanic-like movie. Take note, this is my first ever blog review ..perasan.

Poseidon is as I have said, a Titanic-like movie minus the sex n icebergs. This 'magnificent' ship, "Poseidon" is carrying a bunch of fun-loving rich brats on a cruise during New Year's Eve. While enjoying themselves, a huge wave nearly triple the height of the ship topples n overturns it. The usual hoo-hah's occur and suddenly you see this bunch of people ignoring the captain's instructions finding their very own way out. You find them facing these challenges with tears, fear n bravery... One or two die halfway and after a lil bit of sacrifice, these people finally find their way out n get saved while the hundreds of other passengers die in the sinking ship.

This movie happens to be the movie-debut for Stacy Ferguson well known as Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas as the very talented singer named Gloria. Important well-known ones of the cast are Josh Lucas, Amy Rossum, Kurt Russel , Jacinda Barrett n Mia Maestro. One weird thing I noticed was the very revealing fact that they had used a few dummies to portray the bodies of dead people. It looked dumb .. realli. Still, it had cool stunts. Furthermore, the movie was sort of a simplified Physics lesson involving pressure, density and ballast tanks. At the same time, I would compliment those involved to portray some love between characters despite being an adventure thriller kind of movie. I am now gonna think twice before going on another ' Star Cruise ' since I know I won't be able to survive till such great depths. However, the movie is fiction.

Pros : Cool stunts, that little love in it, a small lesson in Physics (bleh)
Cons : Dummies posing as dead bodies , characters too dramatic at times, predictable plot

Rating : 3/5
